CBI arrests Deputy Labour Commissioner for demanding bribe


The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested the Chennai Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (DCLC), P.M. Srivastava, while he was camping in the city on Saturday. He was caught collecting a bribe of Rs. 25,000 from the Ultratech cement factory at Tadipatri in Anantapur.

A CBI release said Mr. Srivastava had an inspection conducted on the cement plant and later demanded money for official favour. Mr. Srinivas also holds the additional charge of DCLC, Hyderabad. Searches were conducted at his office and residences in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru.
